Create a Studio
A Studio represents you as a developer on Y8. Every game belongs to one, so this is the first thing to set up — if you create a game without a studio, you will be asked to make one first.
You do not need to be a registered company. A solo developer is a studio.
Create it in the Y8 Developer Portal.
What you will be asked for
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Logo | 175 × 175 pixels; PNG, JPG or GIF, up to 2 MB. |
| Studio Name | The name shown for your studio on Y8. 4–32 characters, and not already taken. It cannot be changed once your studio is published. |
| About | A short description. Optional; 10–500 characters. |
| Link to Website | Your studio or game site, if you have one. Must be an http or https address. |
| Social links | Optional: Facebook, X (Twitter) and Discord. |
| Terms and conditions | You must tick I agree with the terms and conditions to create the studio. |
A new studio shows Waiting for Approval until Y8 approves it; you are told once it is.
Your studio page doubles as a portfolio — games you publish are listed under it — so the name and description are worth a moment's thought even if you only plan to release one game.
